A Carter County family has admitted guilt to three of nineteen animal cruelty charges following a single day of witness testimonies. Ryan, Sarah, and Nathaniel Oaks faced these charges after authorities seized more than 30 animals, among them two lemurs, from their residence last June. The initial witness in the case, Darren, provided crucial testimony that set the stage for the proceedings.
