A TAFE campus in Sydney has been placed on lockdown after reports of two individuals exhibiting suspicious behavior, prompting a thorough search by police officers in each classroom.

Authorities were notified of the situation around 4:30 PM today. As a precautionary measure, campus security initiated a lockdown until police arrived on the scene.

Initial reports suggest at least one of the individuals may have been seen with what appeared to be a firearm.

New South Wales Police have begun reviewing CCTV footage and are actively investigating the location of the two suspects.

“The campus will remain in lockdown as officers conduct a comprehensive sweep of every classroom and building to ensure the safety of students and staff,” stated the police.

“Families of students are directed to the pick up location at the roundabout on William Downes Avenue near the Narellan Road exit to the campus.

“Further information will be provided when the operation concludes.”

Police have said no shots have been fired, but are urging people to avoid the area.
