Staff Report

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Early this morning, authorities arrested 47-year-old Christian Ronald Vradenburgh on suspicion of stalking his former girlfriend.

The incident unfolded around 8:35 p.m. on March 9, when an Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a call in the Celebration Pointe area. The victim alleged that her ex-boyfriend was persistently following her. The deputy’s report highlighted a prior occasion where the Gainesville Police Department responded to a complaint that Vradenburgh had unlawfully entered the victim’s home and repeatedly peered through her windows.

According to the victim, she made multiple attempts to elude Vradenburgh, but he continued to pursue her, leaving her fearful of his potential actions if he caught up to her.

The victim provided video evidence showing Vradenburgh trailing her vehicle along Archer Road and subsequently turning into the Celebration Pointe area.

The deputy located Vradenburgh in the Texas Roadhouse parking lot. Vradenburgh claimed he was there to meet his girlfriend for dinner but later decided to change plans and head to Wawa instead.

The deputy’s investigation found that Vradenburgh “willfully, maliciously, and repeatedly followed and harassed” the victim, causing her to be in fear.

A few hours later, deputies learned that Vradenburgh was at a property in the 1600 block of SW 91st Street, and a deputy found him sitting in his vehicle on the property. Vradenburgh was asked to get out of his vehicle and was arrested at about 3 a.m.

Post Miranda, Vradenburgh reportedly said he was “out around town” to shoot videos with his truck. He said he cut through the Texas Roadhouse parking lot because it was “easier to get to Wawa.”

Vradenburgh, who is described as homeless on the arrest report, has been charged with stalking. He has one felony conviction (non-violent) and four misdemeanor convictions (violent) and is on pre-trial release on a 2023 case out of Brevard County for organized fraud and contracting without a license. Judge Susan Miller-Jones set bail at $20,000 and ordered him to be fitted with a GPS monitor.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
