Bodycam footage of Randy Jenks” arrest on March 8 (Ogden City Police).

A troubling incident has reached a grim turning point as a Wisconsin man, accused of the brutal murder of his grandmother, has been apprehended after fleeing the state. Randy Jenks, aged 36, is now facing charges of first-degree intentional homicide. This follows the tragic discovery of his 75-year-old grandmother, Patricia Mae Glenn, who was found lifeless in her residence in Mount Morris, Wisconsin.

Patricia Mae Glenn’s body was discovered on a somber Sunday evening, lying in a pool of blood inside her home. Responding to a welfare check requested by Glenn’s granddaughter, deputies from the Waushara County Sheriff’s Office made the harrowing discovery at 7:44 p.m. From the information provided in a criminal complaint reviewed by Law&Crime, the sequence of events leading to this tragedy began to unravel.

In the aftermath of the grim discovery, deputies spoke with Glenn’s granddaughter, who is also Jenks’ sister. She revealed that Jenks had ominously informed family members about the stabbing and indicated he was heading to Utah. The family suspected Jenks might be seeking refuge with an aunt residing in Ogden, Utah.

In a pivotal phone call to the aunt’s residence, Jenks was found present. During this conversation, he reportedly admitted to his sister, “I stabbed Grandma in the living room, on the floor.” This chilling admission was further corroborated by family members who informed law enforcement that Jenks had been living with Glenn for about a year and had been grappling with mental health challenges.

Upon confirming Jenks’ location in Ogden, detectives engaged with his mother. She recounted a distressing call from Jenks, during which he confessed to the act, explaining he stabbed Glenn in the neck and fled due to fear. This tragic event underscores the profound impacts of mental health struggles and the grave consequences when they remain unaddressed.

After confirming that Jenks was in Odgen, detectives spoke to Jenks’ mother, who said her son called her and told her what he had done. According to the complaint, Jenks told his mother that he stabbed Glenn in the neck and fled “because he was scared.”

Ogden City Police responded to Jenks’ aunt’s home and detained him without incident. When Jenks spoke to police, he told them that Glenn admitted to fatally stabbing his grandmother and said she had “pushed him too far.”

Jenks remains in custody in Utah and is expected to be extradited to Waushara County to face a charge of first-degree intentional homicide. His next court date has not been scheduled.
