Michael B. Jordan, a beloved figure among fans and fellow celebrities alike, is not short on admiration from the public.

However, the acclaimed actor is notably missing a romantic partner by his side.

At 39, Jordan ranks among Hollywood’s most eligible bachelors. Throughout this year’s awards season, the only constant woman by his side has been his mother, Donna Jordan.

As his contemporary, Timothée Chalamet, garners attention for his public displays of affection and declarations of love for Kylie Jenner, Jordan maintains a strong bond with his family.

Upon receiving the Best Actor award at the recent Actor Awards, the “Sinners” star acknowledged his mother’s sacrifices by saying, “Mom, thank you for driving me back and forth to New York when we didn’t have enough money to go through the Holland Tunnel.”

In a touching gesture, he sealed his gratitude with a tender kiss on his mother’s forehead.

And no matter how proud his mother and father, Michael A. Jordan, are, even they would like for their successful son to finally meet the love of his life.

‘His parents would love for him to meet someone, but are happy that he is happy and respect that he isn’t rushing,’ an insider exclusively told the Daily Mail.

Jordan has not been in a high-profile relationship since his split from model Lori Harvey, 29, who he dated for a year and a half from November 2020 to June 2022.

The picture-perfect couple were said to have been ‘completely heartbroken’ over the breakup and that Jordan, in particular, ‘was ready to commit for the long term.’

‘He let down his guard with her, opening up emotionally in a romantic relationship for the first time,’ an insider told People magazine at the time. ‘They had great times together and brought out the best in each other.’

The relationship reportedly ended because they were at different stages in life.

Harvey, for her part, has seemingly had an easier time moving on.

Six months after their breakup, the daughter of comedian Steve Harvey started dating British actor Damson Idris. They have since been in an on-again, off-again relationship but are currently together.

The ‘heartache’ from Harvey has reportedly driven Jordan – who is at the peak of his career with a slew of Best Actor nominations, director credits, film projects in the works and movie offers rolling in – to ‘focus on his work.’

‘Michael tried hard to make his relationship with Lori work while juggling being in the public eye and his breakneck work schedule – but it didn’t work,’ a second insider told us. ‘He saw forever with Lori, he saw family with her, but she is younger than him and he was moving faster than she wanted to go.’

‘If it didn’t work out with Lori, who he thought was his one, he figured he may as well put his all into his work,’ the insider continued. ‘And look at what that has got him – an Oscar nomination.

‘Right now he finds it difficult to date because who is he going to meet that shares the same lifestyle, the same goals. He doesn’t want to be single, but he is choosing to be because that is what life is bringing him right now. He’s likely going to be single for a while.’

Romance may have taken a backseat for now, but Jordan has tried to play the field.

In January 2023, he revealed during his Saturday Night Live monologue that he had joined the celebrity dating app Raya.

It’s unclear whether the platform resulted in any dates for the movie star, but by March 2025, he was seen spending time with actress Taylor Russell in London.

The pair were spotted by fans walking side by side, but perhaps the dating rumors never picked up steam because both were also set to star in a film together, leading people to speculate that perhaps it was just a friendly outing.

Jordan had cast Russell, 31, as his leading lady in his upcoming movie The Thomas Crown Affair, in which he is both the lead man and director.

However, already a few weeks into filming in July 2025, Russell abruptly quit the romance thriller, with Adria Arjona swiftly re-cast in the role.

Sources claimed to Deadline at the time that Russell’s departure was because of ‘creative differences’ but rumors of a secret romance-gone-wrong started to gain traction online.

Entertainment journalist Jeff Sneider added fuel to the fire when he alleged on his The Hot Mic Podcast: ‘I know what happened. Without telling you, it’s a tale as old as time.

‘When you’re making a movie, people get close – maybe too close. Spill over into things, and I’ll leave it that.’

Sneider, 42, pointed out that perhaps there was some ‘lingering resentment’ between the two and cautioned that someone in Jordan’s position – being that he was the director – is expected to ‘behave in a certain way because there are repercussions.’

Sources close to Jordan denied that he and Russell ever dated. The actors have yet to publicly address the romance rumors themselves.

In March 2024, Jordan admitted on a podcast that he feels ‘lonely’ at times and like ‘nobody really understands’ his position.

‘I go back and forth between wanting partnership and then not knowing what’s the best partner for me,’ the Creed star explained on the Jay Shetty Podcast.

‘Like bringing them into my world and what I have going on isn’t easy. It’s not just I love you, you love me. That should be enough right? It’s not quite that simple. Finding the right person to understand all of me, but then all that comes with me, as well.’

It’s a sentiment echoed by our first insider who said: ‘He is very selective when it comes to the women he dates.’

They added that the award winner does dip into the dating scene sporadically and not all of the women are famous.

And there is little to no chance of him getting caught by paparazzi as when he wants ‘private time,’ he does so at his ‘multiple properties.’

For now, it’s safe to predict the only woman on his arm at this Sunday’s Oscars will be his mother, waiting in the wings to celebrate if he beats Chalamet to be crowned Best Actor.
