Kinsey has embarked on an independent investigation into Smith’s death, expressing concerns that critical evidence might have been overlooked during the initial 2015 inquiry.

Stephen Smith’s body was discovered with a significant 7½-inch skull fracture, and the incident was promptly reported to emergency services. Although Smith’s death was originally classified as a hit-and-run, investigators have since argued that the available evidence does not conclusively support this conclusion.

In a bid to uncover the truth, Smith’s body has been exhumed for a new autopsy before being reinterred, as investigators seek to resolve unanswered questions surrounding his demise.
