Montecito is renowned for its extravagant estates—just ask celebrities like Ellen DeGeneres or Meghan Markle. However, amidst the luxurious surroundings, one particular residence has become the talk of the town, and not necessarily for the right reasons.
Locals have dubbed this residence the “Pig House,” a name it certainly lives up to.
The property is adorned with an astonishing collection of approximately 6,000 pig figurines. These whimsical statues are hard to miss—they gaze, they grin, and they command attention. A pig-shaped grill adorns the backyard, and a chef pig seems to preside over the scene. Inside, the theme intensifies with every corner, from shelves to cabinets, and even the bathroom, filled to the brim with porcine paraphernalia.

It’s a complete pig-themed takeover.
And the neighbors have had enough.
Some community members have voiced their displeasure, asking the owner, Nikki Grosso, if it’s truly necessary to display them all. Meanwhile, others have taken more drastic measures—reports from SFGate indicate that some of the pig figurines have mysteriously disappeared from the property.
Still, Grosso isn’t budging.

What started as a gift decades ago — a pig figurine for her husband, a police officer — spiraled into a five-decade obsession. One pig became hundreds. Hundreds became thousands. Friends added to the pile. So did vacations, antique shops and random roadside stops.
After her husband died, Grosso’s collection became a heartfelt tribute. Every pig has a story. Every snout holds a memory.
The spectacle is impossible to ignore. Tourists slow their cars. Cameras click. Tour buses creep past. In a town obsessed with polished perfection, this house stands out like a middle finger in porcelain form.
But change is coming.
Grosso is planning to sell the home within the next year or so, and when it goes, the pigs go, too — likely auctioned off online, piece by piece.
Until then, the Pig House reigns. Loud. Weird. Defiant. Proof that even in Montecito, there’s room for a little chaos — and a lot of pigs.
