Mom Kidnapped Child’s Bully & Threatened To Have Her Husband ‘Beat Him Up’

A Utah mother finds herself facing serious charges after an incident involving an 11-year-old boy, accused of bullying her own child, took a dramatic turn. The allegations against Shannon Tufuga, age 40, surfaced on Monday, months after the purported kidnapping and threats were said to have occurred.

The incident reportedly took place on September 17, when Tufuga is accused of forcing the young boy into her vehicle and driving him to her home in Provo. Her aim, it seems, was to extract an apology from him for his alleged bullying behavior towards her child. Shockingly, she allegedly threatened that her husband would physically assault the boy, and remarked that the boy was “lucky” she didn’t run him over while he was riding his bicycle, as per USA Today’s report.

Adding context to the tense situation, the boy’s mother claims that Tufuga’s child had been persistently bothering her son for two years, reportedly due to a crush. This persistent attention reportedly led to an outburst from her son, who eventually responded with a rude comment after reaching his breaking point.

“One day he got fed up with the fact that she doesn’t leave him alone,” the mother explained, shedding light on the build-up to the confrontation.

In a more alarming revelation, the mother accused Tufuga’s husband of wielding a firearm during the incident. She described the moment when her son was released, “They basically opened their door and told him to get the eff out,” she recounted. “He ran all the way home, came in hysterical, and exclaimed, ‘Mom, I just got kidnapped!’”

“They basically opened their door and told him to get the eff out, and he ran all the way home, she said. “He came in, and he was just hysterical and said, ‘Mom, I just got kidnapped!”

The mother told KTVX that she was hesitant to have Tufaga charged, but that changed after learning Tufaga said she “didn’t care what happened to him, [and] that she’d do it again.”

Tufaga is charged with kidnapping and aggravated child abuse. In a statement to KTVX, Provo police explained that another department investigated the allegations against Tufaga, who was a city employee.

“To prevent any potential conflict of interest, the criminal investigation involving Shannon Tufuga was conducted by the Orem Police Department, as she was employed by Provo City as a crossing guard at the time of the allegation. Shannon is no longer an employee of Provo City,” the police department said.

Tufaga is not in custody, but a summons was issued ordering her to appear in court.
