Air Force F-35 crashes near Las Vegas; pilot survives with minor injuries

Officials from the U.S. Air Force have reported that a pilot sustained injuries following the crash of an F-35 fighter jet on Tuesday, north of Las Vegas.

The public affairs office at Nellis Air Force Base informed Fox News Digital that the incident took place approximately 25 miles northeast of Indian Springs, Nevada. This location is part of the Nevada Test & Training Range, a controlled and restricted federal area.

According to officials, the pilot is currently safe and receiving treatment for minor injuries.

Emergency response teams have been dispatched to the crash site.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the cause of the crash remains undetermined.

The Nellis Air Force Base said populated areas were not impacted.

“The safety of our personnel and the community remain our top priority,” a spokesperson told Fox Digital.
