The story began with a courtside seat and a personalized jersey, but now it’s American taxpayers who will bear the cost.

The U.S. ambassador to Greece, appointed by Donald Trump, is planning to construct a basketball court worth 50,000 euros (approximately $58,000) at the official U.S. residence, as revealed by the Daily Mail.

This new addition for Kimberly Guilfoyle will complement the pool and meticulously maintained gardens at Jefferson House, a luxurious estate situated in the prestigious Kolonaki area of Athens.

Donald Trump Jr.’s former fiancée has quickly immersed herself in the city’s elite social circles, attending receptions, enjoying courtside seats, and participating in vibrant nightlife events.

To capture and document her experiences, she is reportedly looking to hire a personal photographer on the U.S. government’s payroll, with a proposed salary of 25,000 euros ($29,000) per year, according to a draft contract seen by the Daily Mail.

Among her new acquaintances are Panagiotis and Giorgos Angelopoulos, the presidents of the renowned Olympiacos basketball team, who presented her with a custom jersey featuring the name of the legendary player Vassilis Spanoulis.

Guilfoyle signed off on a plan for a half-sized basketball court in December, just weeks after sitting courtside with the business magnate brothers. 

The contract includes strict terms: the court must be built in 45 days, with fines if it runs past schedule and includes a menu of optional add-ons like chain-link fencing, windscreens and LED lighting that could push costs even higher.

She now lives in Jefferson House, the ambassador’s villa located in the exclusive Kolonaki neighborhood of Athens

The courtside diplomacy continued in February when Guilfoyle was pictured with Los Angeles Chargers linebacker Daiyan Henley and Greek-American shooting guard Tyler Dorsey.

‘In the spirit of friendship, respect, and US-Greek ties,’ the 57-year-old wrote on Facebook, sharing photos of herself embracing the hunky players at a jersey swap.

To capture these transatlantic ties better, a new photographer is to be hired on an ‘as-needed basis,’ including ‘after-hours and weekend’ shifts for up to 20 hours a month, according to a prospective contract dated February 20.  

The work order mandates that edited images be delivered within a day, or sooner if requested by the embassy. 

The embassy did not immediately respond to request for comment. 

Guilfoyle, who arrived in Athens in October, is hoping her boss and near-father-in-law will visit the embassy in July.

With a NATO summit scheduled for July 7 and 8 in neighboring Turkey, a stopover in Athens for Air Force One would surely be a logistical no-brainer.

A second government bid obtained by the Daily Mail, dated February 20, outlines a 25,000-euro-per-year contract for photography and videography services

The pair were reunited at the White House last week as Guilfoyle made a high-profile appearance to celebrate Greek independence day.

Trump ensured all eyes were on the envoy, offering a glowing introduction and beckoning her to join him at the podium.

‘You are the greatest, and I heard they love you over there,’ Trump said. ‘And I hope you come back here in 12 years or whenever the term ends.’   

Guilfoyle launched her diplomatic tenure with a nightclub party hosted by Greek pop idol Konstantinos Argiros in late October.

They were joined by billionaire ticket marketplace tycoon Eric Vassilatos, who has since been spotted with Guilfoyle in London and Miami.

The mother-of-one has enjoyed a whirlwind of glamorous events since touching down, from VIP parties to sun-soaked yacht trips in the Aegean aboard Vassilatos’ boat.
