Katie Zacharia, a spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), has announced her departure from the agency just a few weeks after she joined.

In a statement on X, Zacharia expressed, “I joined DHS with a heartfelt dedication to supporting President Trump’s decisive and effective strategies for securing our homeland, advocating for Angel Families, and championing the efforts of the men and women of ICE.”

She continued, “I am eager to pursue these goals in new ways. God bless America, God bless President Trump, and I am thankful to live during his presidencies!”

Zacharia served as a DHS spokeswoman for about six weeks.

Known for her appearances on Fox News, Zacharia came on board with DHS in mid-February, following the departure of Tricia McLaughlin, who served as the department’s chief spokesperson.

Zacharia’s resignation coincides with President Trump’s decision to replace Kristi Noem with Markwayne Mullin as the head of DHS last month.

Additionally, Corey Lewandowski, Noem’s top adviser and rumored partner, has also recently parted ways with his position at DHS.

Zacharia explained in an interview with Just the News that she had been regularly traveling from California to Washington for job, which put a strain on her family and motivated her to leave the post.

McLaughlin left her DHS post in February . AP

She denied a report indicating that her alleged ties to Lewandowski played a role in her departure, claiming she met him for the first time during a February meeting discussing a job in the Trump administration.

DHS did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.
