In Gainesville, Florida, an 18-year-old named Clarence Rudolph Coleman Jr. found himself in police custody following allegations related to firearm possession. Authorities detained Coleman on charges that include possession of a firearm by an adjudicated delinquent and carrying a concealed weapon unlawfully.

This arrest was the result of a thorough investigation by the Gainesville Police Department’s Gun Violence Unit, which scrutinized Coleman’s social media presence. On February 22, Coleman allegedly posted a video on these platforms, capturing himself in full view, ankle monitor and all. The footage reportedly shows him drawing what appears to be a brown Glock-style pistol with a distinct black magazine plate from his waistband, prominently displaying the firearm to the camera. An officer involved in the investigation commented on the authenticity of the weapon, citing the barrel size and design as indicative of a real gun.

The video was filmed outdoors at the Tiger Bay Apartments, with Coleman’s ankle monitor data confirming his presence at that location during the video’s posting. This evidence bolstered the police’s case against him, painting a troubling picture of potential firearm misuse.

Further compounding his legal woes, on March 22, Coleman is said to have shared another video. This time, the footage purportedly depicts him inside a room, where he allegedly displays suspected gang signs before retrieving a brown pistol from his sweatshirt pocket and showcasing it once more to the camera. The video provides a clearer view of the firearm, highlighting the distinctive black back plate.

According to police reports, the data from Coleman’s ankle monitor confirmed he remained at his Castle Drive residence throughout that day, corroborating the timeline of events presented in the video. This digital footprint adds another layer to the ongoing investigation.

An officer reported that Coleman’s ankle monitor placed him at his residence on Castle Drive all day on March 22.

On March 23, Coleman reportedly shared another video in which he points two pistols at the camera; one is black, and one is brown. An officer reported that both appear to be real guns, based on the barrel size and style of the pistols. The video was made in a room that appears to be a recording studio; there is a screen and a microphone, and Coleman is wearing headphones. A fence and shrubbery can be seen in the background.

An officer reported that Coleman’s ankle monitor placed him at a recording studio in the 2700 block of NW 6th Street at the time the video was posted, and the area is consistent with the background seen in the video.

Coleman has been charged with unlawfully carrying a concealed firearm and possession of a firearm by an adjudicated delinquent under 24 years of age. He is on juvenile probation for unlawfully carrying a concealed weapon, and Judge Adam Lee set bail at $150,000.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law
