According to court documents, Tyler Robinson confessed to his transgender partner about killing conservative activist Charlie Kirk, stating, “I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I took it.” This revelation came moments after the incident, as detailed in the records.

Prosecutors in Utah released these documents on Friday, highlighting the investigation’s focus on Robinson’s interactions with his partner, Lance Twiggs. The investigation was prompted following the alleged homicide of Kirk on September 10.

On the day of the shooting, the 22-year-old Robinson communicated with Twiggs via text while at Utah Valley University. According to the documents, he instructed Twiggs to “drop what you are doing” and “look under my keyboard.”

Allegedly, beneath the keyboard, Robinson had left a note that read: “If you are reading this per my text, then I am so sorry.”

The note continued, “I left the house this morning on a mission, and set an auto text. I am likely dead, or facing a lengthy prison sentence.”

In this letter, Robinson allegedly admitted to the crime, writing, “I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk, and I took it,” directly referencing the death of the Turning Point USA co-founder.

‘I don’t know if I will/have succeeded, but I had hoped to make it home to you. I wish we could have lived in a world where this did not feel necessary,’ he allegedly wrote.

‘I wish I could have stayed for you and lived our lives together. I lack the words to express how much I love you, and how very much you mean to me. Please try and find joy in this life. I love you, always, -Tyler.’

Details of Robinson’s alleged letter had been previously cited by authorities at the time of Kirk’s murder, but the latest document release offered a fuller picture of Robinson’s communications on the day of the shooting.

Search warrants conducted after Robinson’s arrest were also detailed, which noted a ‘burnt note found in the trash’ was seized by investigators.

These operations also seized DNA that prosecutors say places Robinson at the scene of the shooting.

‘Fingerprints and a smeared palm print in the vicinity of the northeast corner rooftop edge of the Losee Center building, where Robinson dropped off the rooftop to the ground below’ were found, according to the documents.

Cellphone data also allegedly showed Robinson’s location throughout the day of the shooting, including a route he made on Google Maps leading to an area near the UVU campus, the warrants state.

The alleged letter to Twiggs comes as the Daily Mail exclusively revealed in February that he emerged from hiding after almost five months underground following Kirk’s murder.

The reclusive 22-year-old has quietly rebuilt his life hundreds of miles south in Texas after reconciling with his strict Mormon family, it was revealed.

Alongside the letter to Twiggs – who has not been charged with any crime – Robinson was also discussing his alleged plot to kill Kirk with users on the online platform Discord, prosecutors said.

In one of the chat rooms after Kirk was shot, one user responded: ‘Tyler killed Charlie!!!’, per the documents.

Robinson allegedly sent a message to another Discord chat confessing to the shooting, telling members: ‘Hey guys, I have bad news for you all. It was me at UVU yesterday. I’m sorry for all this.

‘I’m surrendering through a sheriff friend in a few moments. Thanks for all the good times and laughs, you’ve all been so amazing. Thank you all for everything.’

In other texts to Twiggs, Robinson allegedly told him he did not intend to turn himself in, saying: ‘I have no intention of being drug [sic] through the courts in front of the country.’

Twiggs then allegedly asked Robinson how long he had been planning the shooting, to which he responded: ‘A bit over a week I believe.’

When asked why he did it, Robinson said he ‘had enough’ of Kirk’s ‘hatred’ and said ‘some hate can’t be negotiated out’, per the documents.

The court documents allege that after Robinson shot Kirk, he traveled back from Utah to Washington County, where he confessed to his father over the phone.

Robinson initially told his parents he intended to end his own life, but was convinced to surrender to a family friend and law enforcement official to turn himself in.

The alleged killer is next due in court on April 17, where his attorneys are expected to continue their arguments to ban cameras and microphones from the courtroom when he faces a murder trial.

The Daily Mail has contacted Robinson’s attorneys for comment.
