A bomb threat disrupted proceedings at the Los Angeles courthouse where singer D4vd was scheduled to appear for arraignment on Monday afternoon, prompting a swift evacuation by authorities.

According to law enforcement sources speaking to The California Post, an anonymous 911 call was made just before 11 a.m. Monday, threatening the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center.

In response, the building’s courtyard was cleared, and units from both the Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles Fire Department were dispatched to the scene. The LAPD bomb squad, along with a bomb-sniffing dog, conducted a thorough safety check of the premises.

David Burke, known professionally as D4vd, faces arraignment in connection with the murder of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas, a case scheduled for the courthouse that afternoon.

Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman announced that Burke is charged with first-degree murder, including special circumstances.

The charges encompass allegations of lying in wait, killing for financial gain, and eliminating a witness to an investigation. Prosecutors allege that in April 2025, Burke lured Rivas to his residence, where she vanished. Her dismembered remains were discovered in the trunk of Burke’s Tesla in September.

Burke is accused of having a sexual relationship with Rivas from at least September 2023 to September 2024, according to charging documents.

He was also charged with lewd and lascivious sexual acts with an individual under 14 years old, and mutilating the human remains of a body.

Prosecutors say the singer was motivated to protect his music career over fears the relationship with Rivas would be made public.
