UAE airlines the first to resume flights to Israel since beginning of Operation Epic Fury in Iran

In a significant move underscoring the strengthened relations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, two UAE airlines have become some of the first international carriers to resume flights to Israel following the outbreak of conflict with Iran on February 28. This resumption reflects the solid partnership established by the historic Abraham Accords.

Etihad Airways, the national airline of Abu Dhabi, along with the budget-friendly FlyDubai, have recommenced services to Tel Aviv. This positions them ahead of major European and American airlines, which have yet to restart their routes to Israel.

Mark Feldman, CEO of Ziontours in Jerusalem, remarked on Monday, “FlyDubai and Etihad’s swift return to Tel Aviv demonstrates their confidence in Israel’s economic potential and the strong affinity the Israeli public has for these airlines.”

With international flight options to and from Israel still limited, and high demand driving up prices on Israel’s four domestic airlines, Etihad and FlyDubai are promoting their well-connected routes. These routes offer seamless travel from the Far East and the United States to Israel, catering to both business and leisure travelers.

Amid the continuing regional instability, all three U.S. legacy carriers have pushed back service to Tel Aviv until September, effectively canceling summer travel to Israel.

Among the other foreign carriers currently flying to Tel Aviv are the Israeli-owned Greek airline Bluebird Airways, Cypriot Tus Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, Czech Smartwings, China-based Hainan Airlines, Russian carrier Red Wings, Georgian Airlines and Moldovan airline FlyOne.
