Vandal throws Lime scooter onto 110 Freeway, triggering multi-car crash in LA

In a startling act of vandalism, a Lime scooter was thrown from a freeway overpass in Los Angeles early Tuesday, sparking a multi-vehicle collision below. The chaos ensued on Interstate 110 in downtown LA, as reported by ABC 7, when the scooter was launched from the Adams Boulevard overpass into the northbound traffic lanes.

The California Highway Patrol noted that the unexpected appearance of the scooter prompted several drivers to swerve abruptly and pull over, leading to a cascade of collisions. While the investigation is ongoing, specifics about any injuries have not yet been disclosed.

Motorists caught in the incident were left in disbelief. Natalie, a passenger in one of the involved vehicles, recounted her experience, saying, “We started skidding, but then realized something had fallen from the car, causing a significant oil leak. It turned out to be a scooter on the road.”

Officials confirmed damage to four vehicles as a result of the incident. Video footage from the scene revealed part of the scooter wedged beneath one of the cars involved in the crash.

Natalie, who was riding in one of the affected cars, said her car started “skidding, but then we realized something fell out of the car and a bunch of oil leaked out,” she said. “We looked at the road, and it was a scooter.”

Authorities confirmed that four vehicles were damaged in the incident, with footage from the scene showing part of the scooter lodged beneath one of the cars.

In a separate incident in South Los Angeles, another vehicle may have been struck by an unidentified object, leaving an SUV with a shattered front windshield. The exact cause of the damage remains unclear.
