This week, a popular bar has become the target of vandals for the second time, but the determined owners are insisting they will be open for business tonight.

In the early hours, the venue was bustling with patrons. However, at around 5 a.m., arsonists brazenly broke through the entrance, attempting to light the establishment on fire.

Fortunately, city CCTV cameras captured the assailants, who were seen moving suspiciously in a Toyota ute. Authorities acted swiftly, leading to the trio’s prompt arrest.

This incident marks the latest in a troubling series of attacks on bars and alcohol distributors, a trend that has been attributed to underworld activities in the area.

Businessman Nick Russian, who owns the bar, remains undeterred despite this recent attack coming just a week after a similar incident. The resilience of the owners and their commitment to reopening is a testament to their resolve amidst ongoing challenges.

The bar, owned by businessman Nick Russian, was smashed into exactly a week ago.

It is one of several high-profile hospitality venues to have been targeted this month including Soho bar The Men’s Gallery and The Albion.

Nine News understands a new crime syndicate is believed to be behind the spree with possible links to Middle Eastern crime gangs.

Police are investigating whether the gang’s objective is to get a stronghold on the booze market through scare tactics and extortion, including violent kidnappings.

Victoria Police have vowed to bolster security.

Sally Curtain, CEO of Victorian Chamber of Commerce said other venues are “increasing security.”
