In a recent move to enhance its popular MX line of accessories, Logitech has rolled out a fresh set of Productivity Plugins. These new additions are set to broaden the horizons for users of the MX Creative Console, a device that has been steadily gaining traction since its debut in September 2024. Initially focused on creativity-driven applications like Final Cut Pro, Adobe Lightroom, and Figma, the console’s functionality now extends to include productivity staples such as Microsoft Office’s Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as collaboration tools like Slack and Notion.

The heart of these innovations lies in Logitech’s Actions Ring menus, which offer swift access to shortcuts, actions, and specific tools within these applications. Accessories such as the MX Master 4 mouse and the MX Mechanical Mini keyboard are integral to this system, with the Logi Options Plus app providing a platform for users to customize and personalize their experience. This app serves as a hub, allowing for seamless integration and enhanced productivity across various Logitech devices.

With the MX Creative Console, users can now configure dedicated buttons for routine tasks in the newly supported apps. Whether it’s replacing text in Word, adding cells in Excel, toggling between Slack workspaces, or formatting to-do lists in Notion, these functions are just a button press away, thanks to the free Productivity Plugins available via the Logi Marketplace.

In addition to these plugins, Logitech has also fine-tuned its Easy Switch feature, which facilitates effortless transitions between multiple computers for users of its mice and keyboards. Previously, switching required pressing the Easy Switch button on each device. Now, with the Logi Options Plus app, a single button press on the MX Keys S or MX Keys Mini keyboards can simultaneously switch an MX mouse and the MX Creative Dialpad, streamlining the workflow. This enhancement does require a firmware update, and Logitech has plans to extend this capability to more devices in the MX lineup in the near future.
