Melania Trump likened to Jackie Kennedy for her state dinner gown

Melania Trump exuded sophistication as she donned a stunning pink strapless gown for the state dinner, prompting admirers to draw comparisons to Jackie Kennedy.

Accompanying her husband, President Donald Trump, the First Lady made a graceful entrance as the state visit of King Charles and Queen Camilla continued.

At 56, she chose a delicate delphinium pink silk strapless creation from Christian Dior Haute Couture, complemented by elegant off-white suede gloves from the same designer.

Completing her ensemble, she wore coordinating Dior silk pumps in the same shade of pink.

Melania stayed true to her usual makeup style and let her honey-colored locks cascade, elegantly swept back over her shoulders.

Meanwhile, President Trump, 79, was dressed for the occasion in a classic black suit with a tailcoat, fitting for the White House dinner.

And viewers were quick to point out the similarities between Melania and John F. Kennedy’s wife, who was First Lady from 1961 to 1963.

Many took to social media to share side-by-side images of the duo, as one wrote: ‘Melania is gorgeous. She has some Jackie vibes going on tonight.’

Others also heaped praise on the ensemble as one wrote: ‘Beautiful gowns! Our First Lady is the pinnacle of elegance and class.’

And another shared: ‘She and that gown are exquisite. It always amazes me how she glows in every color. I don’t know of any other woman who has this gift.’

Ivanka Trump, Eric Trump and Tiffany Trump were all on the guest list for tonight’s event as dozens of other famous faces – including Lauren Sanchez, Jeff Bezos, Tim Cook and Ralph Lauren – filed into the White House.

Earlier in the day, King Charles III condemned the assassination attempt against President Trump in the royal’s historic speech to Congress.

The British monarch, who became the first royal in 35 years to deliver the address, said that his speech came in the wake of the attempt ‘not far from this great building that sought to harm the leadership of your nation and to foment wider fear and discord.’

Gunman Cole Tomas Allen was charged with trying to assassinate President Trump after he stormed through Secret Service security checks with a rifle and knives at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday night in Washington, DC.

Prior to the address, President Trump and First Lady Melania rolled out the red carpet for King Charles and Queen Camilla.

The Royals are currently on a four-day state visit and have been welcomed with pomp and pageantry.

The Trumps greeted the royals on Monday on the South Lawn and brought them to the Green Room for tea before giving Charles and Camilla a tour of the upgraded beehive, which is situated in the White House Kitchen Garden.

The more formal day of programming came on Tuesday, which also offered the First Lady and the Queen an opportunity to do a spouses’ engagement.

Melania wanted to showcase her Fostering the Future Together initiative, which, beyond supporting foster youth, also concerns young people and emerging technologies.

When she and the Queen walked out onto a tennis court, several young people were wearing virtual reality headsets.

The Meta Quest headsets were adorned with the Fostering the Future Together logo and allowed students to virtually visit some of the United Kingdom’s most spectacular sites – including Buckingham Palace and Stonehenge.

The visit is the most important foreign trip of Charles’s reign so far, but it now has the added element of heightened security concerns after the attempted attack against the president.

It is the first formal white tie event there since President George W. Bush hosted Queen Elizabeth in 2007.
