Michael Lohan Sr., father of actress Lindsay Lohan, recently faced a significant health emergency that led to multiple hospital visits over the past few weeks.
The 66-year-old underwent an angioplasty, a procedure designed to insert a stent in his heart, aimed at relieving a blockage in his artery.
Lohan Sr. shared with TMZ that this stent placement was a necessary step in addressing his heart condition.
Before the procedure, he experienced persistent symptoms including severe fatigue and difficulty breathing. Medical professionals later discovered the artery blockage and recommended the stent insertion to improve his condition.
Although he was initially released from the hospital and began recovering, his health took another downturn at home, requiring him to seek medical attention once more.

Lohan Sr. recounted to reporters that just a fortnight prior, he had collapsed while doing household chores, such as folding laundry.
In the past, Lindsay, 39, has had a strained relationship with her father marked by long periods of estrangement before they eventually reconciled in recent years.
She is the eldest out of four children Michael Sr. shares with his ex-wife Dina Lohan (née Sullivan), who acted as Lindsay’s manager during her rise to fame.
The former couple, who were married from 1985 to 2007, are also parents to daughter Aliana, sons Michael Jr. and Dakota.
All of Lindsay’s siblings have also not shyed away from the spotlight; her brothers pursued modeling and her sister made minor appearances in films over the years.
Michael Sr. welcomed sons Landon and Logan in 2013 and 2014, respectively, with his second wife Kate Major. She filed for divorce in September 2018.
Just last month, around the same time as Michael Sr.’s hospitalizations, Kate, 44, was arrested for allegedly attacking him with a knife.
Court documents revealed she was booked for assaulting a family/household member with a previous conviction on April 14.

She was taken to jail on a $35,000 bond in Harris County, Texas.
Michael claimed she threw a knife at him, according to court documents obtained by the Daily Mail.
During the altercation, Major allegedly struck Michael Sr. in the face, leaving him with a bloody nose, sources told TMZ.
Insiders claimed Major had been ‘irate about being woken up’ when Michael arrived, adding that ‘things escalated quickly’ into violence from there.
Over the years, she has been arrested eight times over the past 15 years and a number of those resulted in DUI charges.
At her arraignment, her lawyer told the court she could be left with nowhere to live, as a protective order barring contact with Michael Sr. has effectively cut off her current housing situation, per TMZ.
The attorney added that Major is currently unemployed and struggling financially, warning she may be forced to rely on a shelter or temporary accommodation as the case unfolds.
The latest incident comes more than a year after Michael Sr. was arrested at the family’s home in connection with a felony assault.
