DUBAI – According to the British military, a ship was set ablaze on Sunday after being struck by an unidentified projectile off Qatar’s coast.
The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations Centre reported that the assault led to a minor fire on the bulk carrier, which was subsequently put out.
UKMTO indicated that the incident occurred 23 nautical miles (approximately 43 kilometers) northeast of Doha, Qatar’s capital city.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the attack.
This incident marks the most recent attack on ships in the Persian Gulf, following a fragile truce between the United States and Iran.
