Former Osceola High School Employee Arrested for Inappropriate Student Interactions: Community Concerns Rise

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – Authorities in Osceola County have detained a former campus monitor from Liberty High School following allegations of misconduct involving students, as confirmed by the sheriff’s office.

The incident came to light after a parent contacted deputies over the weekend, expressing concern about the interactions between their child and the school staff member.

Subsequently, an investigation was launched into the concerning conversations that took place between the student and Justice Jones, the 30-year-old former monitor, according to the sheriff’s report.

The investigation uncovered that another student had also been inappropriately approached by Jones. Based on these findings, a detective from the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office secured a warrant for his arrest.

It’s worth noting that Jones had already been dismissed from his duties on May 15 due to an unrelated matter and had since relocated to Vero Beach.

However, Jones was apprehended when he unexpectedly returned to Liberty High School on Thursday, where deputies found him sitting in his car on the premises.

While he initially fled from deputies, he was ultimately arrested along John Young Parkway after getting caught up in traffic, the release mentions.

Now, Jones faces charges of attempted sexual battery by someone over 24 years old to a victim under 16/17 years old. He also faces a charge of fleeing and eluding a traffic stop.

“When he was interviewed by detectives, he admitted to fleeing from deputies and inappropriate contact with the students at Liberty High School,” the release continues.

School safety detectives are asking anyone who had any inappropriate interactions with Jones at Liberty High School or who feels that they may have been a victim to contact the sheriff’s office.
