A shooting incident erupted in a quiet Texas town, where a gunman targeted two individuals and fired at others, creating widespread panic, as reported by KHOU.
In response to the unfolding situation, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office released a critical alert: “Law enforcement is actively responding to a shooting incident on Nottingham Street. Several people have been shot.”
The alert also advised, “Please avoid entering the area if you are outside of it.”
“Residents within the vicinity should comply with all police instructions,” the statement further advised.
The tense ordeal stretched over several hours, with the gunman holding his ground inside a local home. The standoff concluded when a 60-year-old male suspect surrendered to SWAT officers.
By 7:30 p.m., officials announced that the suspect was in custody and confirmed that the situation was under control.
Ultimately, two people sustained minor, non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

This included a 17-year-old male who suffered a head injury; both victims were hospitalized and are expected to recover.
While several other neighbors reported being shot at during the spree, no law enforcement officers were injured.
Detectives believe the shooting stemmed from a disturbance between neighbors, though the suspect’s identity and specific charges have not yet been released.
The public is asked to avoid the New Cane area as the investigation remains ongoing.
