In a dramatic street altercation captured by CCTV, two men reportedly clashed using metal poles in Melbourne’s western suburb of Sunshine West.
The confrontation unfolded on a footpath, where the individuals, aged 19 and 30, were allegedly seen brandishing metal poles against each other.
Before tensions escalated, the two men appeared to provoke one another. The younger man then allegedly drove a vehicle, striking the older man twice.
Amazingly, the 30-year-old managed to stand up without injuries, while stunned onlookers attempted to prevent the men from fleeing the scene.
Unfortunately, an innocent bystander, the owner of a nearby parked grey ute, found themselves inadvertently involved in the chaos.
Police officers quickly arrived and detained both individuals, ensuring the situation was brought under control.
It is not clear what sparked the fight but it is understood the two men involved were known to each other.
The 19-year-old has since been charged with a string of serious offences including assault with a weapon and dangerous driving.
He has been bailed while the other man was released on summons.
