BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – A dramatic incident on Interstate 95 unfolded when a car carrier inadvertently set off a series of collisions, leading to the closure of all southbound lanes and sending three individuals to the hospital, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The accident took place on Thursday morning, close to mile marker 207 near Port St. John Parkway in Cocoa. Authorities report that the driver of the car hauler failed to decelerate for stopped traffic, consequently slamming into the rear of another vehicle. This initial impact triggered a domino effect, involving four more vehicles, making it a six-car pile-up.

As emergency responders arrived, three people were swiftly taken to the hospital. Among them, two were found to be in serious condition, while the third suffered only minor injuries. The scene remained active for some time, with troopers and cleanup crews working diligently, while traffic on the southbound lanes of I-95 came to a complete halt.

Investigations are currently ongoing to determine the precise circumstances that led to this multi-vehicle crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
