BAY LAKE, Fla. – Disney’s Hollywood Studios is undergoing a monstrous transformation, welcoming visitors to the vibrant world of Monstropolis.
Walt Disney World unveiled exciting plans on Thursday for the eagerly awaited “Monsters, Inc.”-themed area, currently being developed within the park.
Drawing inspiration from the 2001 Pixar classic, this new attraction invites guests into a laughter-powered Monstropolis, marking the inaugural occasion for human visitors to explore the city.
This significant event is aptly named H.U.M.A.N. Day, an acronym for “Humans Understand Monsters Are Nice.”
Visitors will have the chance to wander through monster-themed shops, savor meals at the famed Harryhausen’s, and enjoy performances at the Glob Theater, all while soaking up the lively atmosphere of Monstropolis.
The highlight of this new land is Disney’s pioneering suspended roller coaster, which will take riders through the iconic Monsters, Inc. door vault.
“You’ll go into the factory and experience the first suspended coaster ever in a Disney park,” said Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro in 2024. “Remember in the movie how those claws grab the doors and hoist them up into the air to take them away? We’re doing that, too. And you’re going along for the ride.”
No opening date has been announced.
