ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – What began as a routine call about a vehicle collision in Sanford spiraled into a series of chaotic events, culminating in a separate crash in the heart of Orlando later the same day, authorities reported.
The Sanford police initially responded to a report of a two-car crash. However, as officers were en route, the situation escalated, with a witness informing the dispatcher that the individuals involved in the accident had resorted to a physical altercation.
According to the police report, it was revealed that the incident was not merely an accident. “The investigation suggests the suspect deliberately collided with the rear of the victim’s vehicle,” stated the release. The suspect then took advantage of the ensuing chaos to steal items from the victim’s vehicle.
After the confrontation, the suspect fled the scene in a red Kia, which was later seen in downtown Orlando. The vehicle’s reckless path continued as it crashed into an Amazon delivery truck and several other cars near the Camden Orange Court apartments on Orange Avenue.
The suspect then fled the scene in a Red Kia, which apparently later made its way to downtown Orlando.
The Kia was spotted running into an Amazon delivery truck and other vehicles outside the Camden Orange Court apartments along Orange Avenue.
Orange County deputies said they had spotted the Kia and pulled it over, but as the driver was surrendering, a passenger hopped in the driver’s seat, took off, and crashed into the other vehicles.
Afterward, the passenger tried to run off, though both the passenger and the other suspect were ultimately caught and taken into custody, deputies added.
According to investigators, the duo faces several felony charges stemming from the incident.
However, no additional information has been provided at this time, including their identities.
