In a recent interview, model Brooks Nader opened up about her use of a GLP-1 weight loss drug, attributing it to her career success and admitting to being ‘addicted,’ despite her sisters’ concerns.
The 28-year-old, known for her bold fashion choices, discussed her ongoing reliance on the drug with Bustle, acknowledging that she ‘should get off it.’
Speaking candidly, Nader remarked, “The truth is, when I started using GLP-1, my career soared. I’m not endorsing it as the right choice for everyone, but I lost 30 pounds and started landing all the jobs.”
Her modeling career gained momentum after being featured in Sports Illustrated in 2019, and by 2023, she graced the magazine’s cover.
During her conversation with the publication, Nader reflected on her strategy for bouncing back when she missed out on gigs.
She detailed, “Whenever I didn’t land a job, I’d ask my former agency, ‘Can we get feedback from the client?’ The straightforward feedback was that I needed to lose 30 pounds. I didn’t let it upset me. Instead, I faced the reality: they wanted me to lose weight, so I asked myself, ‘How can I make that happen?'”

Brooks previously got honest about her use of Ozempic in December 2024 after one of her younger sisters teased her about it on TikTok.
‘My sisters ratted me out on that, which they’re in huge trouble for, but yeah, I did [use it],’ the former Dancing With the Stars competitor told DailyMail.com last year.
‘I tried it out when it first came out, and I liked it, I can’t lie,’ she confessed at the time.
The subject also came up as Brooks confronted her struggles with body image on the siblings’ Freeform series, Love Thy Nader.
Her siblings were concerned over her health during the seventh episode of the series after she admitted to taking GLP-1s after nearly passing out during an exercise class as she blamed the medication for her symptoms.
Her sister Mary Holland said in the episode: ‘Just seeing all of the needles piled up in one place makes me realize the gravity of how deep she’s gone in it. This is different doctors, clearly. This is different pharmacies.
‘That’s dangerous. She’s overprescribed. This amount is so concerning.’
Elsewhere on the reality show, Brooks commented on her use of the medication as she said: ‘I typically micro-dose GLP-1, this weight loss drug. But now, since I have Maxim coming up, and I’m probably gonna be half-naked, I’m upping my dose a little because I want to be extra snatched.’
Brooks’ modeling trajectory ascended when she was cast to appear inside the pages of Sports Illustrated in 2019. By 2023 she had become a cover star
She plainly stated, ‘The facts are that when I started GLP-1, my career took off. I’m not saying it’s OK. I’m not saying it’s right. I think everybody is different – but I lost 30 pounds, and I booked all the jobs,’; pictured in June 2024
The beauty shared what surprised her the most about opening up about her ‘crutch’ on the series.
She told Bustle: ‘The thing that I was so shocked about with the show was that I had so many people reach out to me saying, “I’m also addicted to GLP-1. I’m ashamed to talk about it because there’s such a stigma around it. It’s a crutch for me.”
‘I’m still on it. It’s a crutch for me, too. It’s not healthy. I should get off it; I’ll be honest about that.’
And the influencer listed the cosmetic procedures she’s undergone: veneers, a nose job, injectable salmon sperm facials and a Botox neck lift.
Before opening up to Bustle about her dependency on the GLP-1 drug, which originally was used to treat diabetes patients, Brooks said she was taking a pause from the prescription.

The break was a result of her performing on Dancing With The Stars in 2024.
‘It was so taxing on your physical body and everything, and it makes you so tired, fatigued, so I kind of had to take a little hiatus from it,’ she told DailyMail in December.
However, the Dolce & Gabbana model said going back on it wasn’t out of the question.
‘I mean, never say never… [but] as of right now, no,’ she said.
‘[If I] keep staying healthy and working out, hopefully I won’t have to,’ she added.
