In a separate education-related controversy, a Rhode Island teacher who referred to the slain Kirk as “garbage” was later honored in a high school yearbook, drawing renewed attention and criticism.
Elsewhere, a Washington school removed testosterone vials from a Pride display after district officials said the items had not been approved beforehand.

Additional school disputes have also surfaced around the country. In Las Vegas, a father said he was shocked after a school allegedly compared his son’s pro-ICE stickers to a burning cross.
In Washington state, a school board director who also owns a sex shop came under scrutiny for helping host a sex education event aimed at children as young as 9.
