GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A 19-year-old woman, Julianete Rodriguez, was arrested yesterday after authorities said she threatened to shoot her boyfriend.
According to an Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy, the incident was reported on the evening of June 19 after deputies were called to a home in Hawthorne. Investigators said the confrontation had earlier taken place at The Polos apartment complex, located at 2330 SW Williston Road.
The deputy reported that Rodriguez, the alleged victim, and a juvenile witness left The Polos in the victim’s vehicle. The victim was driving, Rodriguez was seated in the front passenger seat, and the juvenile witness was in the back seat. Deputies said another unidentified woman was also reportedly riding in the back.
Soon after the group left the apartment complex, Rodriguez and the victim began arguing, according to the report. The juvenile witness allegedly told deputies that Rodriguez grabbed a firearm, “cocked it back,” pointed it at the victim and yelled that she would shoot him. She also reportedly ordered the victim to take the unidentified woman back to The Polos, which he did.
Rodriguez then allegedly said she was going to shoot the unidentified woman in the face and kept the firearm between her legs as the group drove to Hawthorne. Once they arrived, a family member of the juvenile witness contacted law enforcement to report what had happened.
The deputy noted in the report that the vehicle was parked directly beside an open window. Authorities believed the firearm may have been thrown through the window before deputies reached the scene.
After being read her Miranda rights, Rodriguez reportedly denied having a gun but acknowledged that her hands had been between her legs during the drive. She told deputies she had pulled a brush from her backpack and that it made a metallic sound when she removed it. Rodriguez also claimed that a woman had threatened her with a gun at some point during the incident, but deputies said she did not provide further details.
The victim reportedly denied that anything had happened and refused to cooperate with deputies.
A search of the vehicle did not produce any guns, but two empty magazines were reportedly found.
Rodriguez, whose address is listed as Interlachen, has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. She has no local criminal convictions, but she was arrested in February 2026 for allegedly pushing and scratching the same victim, along with resisting an officer without violence; that case can no longer be found on the court website. Rodriguez has been released from the jail.
