Angelina Jolie Seen in Los Angeles Following Son Pax Jolie-Pitt’s Rare Public Outing

Angelina Jolie is stepping back into the spotlight with her film Couture as she gets ready to say goodbye to Los Angeles.

The 51-year-old actress looked focused on Saturday while out and about in the warm city, where temperatures were around 77 degrees Fahrenheit.

Jolie kept her look sleek and simple in head-to-toe black, pairing a relaxed top with slim-fitting jeans.

With dark sunglasses shielding her eyes and her mahogany hair swept into an easy updo, she made her way to her car carrying an oversized black tote.

The outing follows news that her son Pax, 22, who was spotted on a rare outing in Los Angeles the same day, still retains ties to the paternal side of his family and hasn’t filed to remove Pitt from his name, despite his estrangement from father Brad Pitt, according to Page Six.

A source told the outlet that Pax remains connected to his father’s side of the family and continues to spend time with them. He was recently seen joining relatives for dinner as they celebrated his cousin Sydney’s engagement to Archimede Jerome.

The celebration also included Pitt’s sister, Julie Pitt Neal, his niece Reagan Pitt and several other members of the family.

Back in March, Sydney announced her engagement on Instagram, writing: ‘I said yes (duh).’

Pax, however, ‘doesn’t have much of a relationship with Brad,’ a second source noted.

Pax was 16 years old when he shared a scathing Father’s Day message in an Instagram Story, calling Pitt a ‘world class a**hole’ who made his younger children ‘tremble in fear.’

In 2024, when the ‘nepo baby’ suffered a traumatic head injury following his electric bike accident, his father was reportedly unable to reach him or visit him in the hospital.

His siblings have taken steps to distance themselves from the F1 star, 62.

Jolie and Pitt adopted Maddox, 24, Pax and Zahara, 21, and are also the parents of three biological children, Shiloh, 20, and 17-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.

The Daily Mail confirmed that Maddox filed paperwork in May to have Pitt removed from his surname for ‘personal’ reasons.

Zahara filed a petition to switch her name from Jolie-Pitt to merely Pitt this month.

Knox, who turns 18 on July 12, dropped Pitt from his diploma when he graduated from Fusion Academy in Los Angeles on June 5, per Page Six, while his twin sister Vivienne has formally begun using just Jolie in all walks of life as opposed to Jolie-Pitt.

Shiloh legally dropped her father’s moniker after turning 18.

Pax has not done so, and his continued closeness with the Pitt side of the family may be a reason.

Meanwhile, Jolie recently reflected on returning to acting and how she has overcome challenges in her personal life since her and Pitt’s high-profile divorce, which was finalized in December 2024.

‘I think my fighting spirit is finally back. I lost it for a bit,’ she told Variety. ‘I got kind of taken down a little bit and it’s coming back in large part thanks to my children, who are now older, and encouraging it.’

Jolie, who listed her Los Feliz compound, formerly owned by legendary filmmaker Cecil B DeMille, for $29.85 million in May, per People, said her kids ‘want to see me traveling the world, they want me to get out and do things. They know me more than anybody, and they still like me, which says a lot.

‘I think they’re very encouraging of me kind of getting back to aspects of myself that maybe I hadn’t felt as free to do.’

The Couture actress explained that returning to her work on camera was actually motivated by doing right by her children.

‘I had kind of quit acting before my divorce. I was focusing on directing, and I thought I’d be doing my international work,’ she explained.

‘But then suddenly the only way to be home more and for short periods of time being away or to make a good amount of money, was to go back to acting.

‘I was only taking things that were short or close by or I could take [my children].’
