Trump's 'extremely p****d off' with Kimberly Guilfoyle, might fire her

President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are weighing whether to remove US Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle following a string of reports alleging misconduct, including actions that may have violated the law before and after she took up her post in Athens.

A senior US official said Sunday that Trump and Rubio were “extremely pissed off” by the allegations and could determine Guilfoyle’s future this week, once the Columbus Day holiday on Monday has passed.

The official, who requested anonymity while discussing internal deliberations, said Rubio was especially frustrated. The secretary had traveled to Athens the previous week, where Guilfoyle attended nearly all of his events and welcomed him with a bear hug as the reports continued to emerge.

In a series of articles, The Wall Street Journal has described several alleged incidents involving Guilfoyle. They include claims that she threatened an official in the host country, accepted inappropriate gifts and services, and offered to use her influence within the administration in exchange for help paying a substantial credit card balance.

Guilfoyle has not personally responded to the reports. Her attorney has denied any wrongdoing, while the US Embassy in Athens has appeared to signal support for the ambassador.

Rubio initially defended Guilfoyle after the first story was published but has since declined to address the expanding allegations in public.

“Our ambassador has been a strong ambassador here,” Rubio said Wednesday.

However, after another report was published later that day, Rubio confronted reporters on Thursday before departing Athens. He said he did not know whether the claims were accurate and would not comment on allegations he could not verify.

Trump and Rubio are reportedly “extremely p****d off” over the allegations and could decide Guilfoyle’s fate as early as this week

“You guys walk around thinking that because some source told you something and you reported it, it’s the gospel. It’s not the gospel. It’s not the gospel for me. That’s not the way we do things,” Rubio said beside his aircraft as Guilfoyle watched him leave.

According to the senior official, Rubio’s irritation grew as additional reports surfaced.

Vice President JD Vance also dismissed questions about the matter as “hypothetical,” while acknowledging that he was uncomfortable with the reports concerning Guilfoyle’s spending and expenses.

“Well, so… with that hypothetical, obviously I don’t love that, but I, you know, I don’t know exactly who you’re talking about,” Vance said. “I don’t know the full details.”

The controversy follows revelations from Our News Outlet about Guilfoyle’s reported Champagne demands during her ambassadorship, along with leaked messages detailing the end of her engagement to Donald Trump Jr.

A second US official, also speaking anonymously because of the sensitivity of personnel matters, said the State Department’s inspector general is reviewing the allegations. The claims first appeared in the Journal late last month and have continued to accumulate.

That official could not confirm whether the review had formally become an inspector general investigation.

Inspectors general frequently begin with informal reviews of complaints involving government personnel. Such inquiries do not always lead to a full investigation, which could result in disciplinary measures ranging from other sanctions to dismissal.

The State Department has declined to comment on reports of a possible inspector general review.

Calls for an investigation have already come from the senior Democrats on the House Foreign Affairs and Senate Foreign Relations committees—Representative Gregory Meeks of New York and Senator Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire—as well as Representative Robert Garcia of California, the ranking Democrat on the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

Since late September, the Journal has published multiple accounts alleging questionable conduct by Guilfoyle.

Its first report said that she had told guests at a reception that the US could undermine the Greek government if it chose to, promoted the business interests of one particular Greek construction and energy company, and allowed its lobbyist into private diplomatic meetings.

While Rubio was in Athens, the Journal reported – citing text messages – that Guilfoyle had asked a Trump donor and supporter to pay a $100,000 credit card bill just before her confirmation hearing, promising him access to administration officials if he did.

The Journal then reported that Guilfoyle had been enraged about not being invited to a Greek-themed event at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, earlier this year and demanded to attend while boasting about luxury travel to France with energy company executives.

Another report in Our News Outlet, said that Guilfoyle had alienated staff at the US Embassy in Athens and had pushed the bounds of behavior appropriate for the top representative of the US government to Greece.

The story alleged how the State Department is officially investigating complaints into her allegedly ‘tyrannical’ leadership and lavish corporate perks and Champagne-filled lifestyle.

Guilfoyle’s arrival in Greece followed her very public split from Trump Jr, whom she began dating during Trump’s first term.

After photos emerged of Don Jr with Palm Beach socialite Bettina Anderson, Trump announced in December that Guilfoyle would become his ambassador to Greece.

Since arriving, the former Fox News personality has embraced the role with characteristic flair, mixing meetings with presidents and ministers with fashion shows, art galas and social media posts to her nearly two million Instagram followers.
