Paul Pelosi crash: Husband of Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi facing hit and run charge in Yountville in Napa County, California

YOUNTVILLE, Calif. (KGO) — Paul Pelosi, the husband of Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi, is facing a hit-and-run charge following a crash in Yountville, the Napa County Sheriff’s Office said Saturday.

Pelosi, 86, is accused of striking a parked vehicle, stopping briefly and then leaving the scene.

Deputies said they were called to the 6700 block of Yount Street at about 2:30 p.m. Friday after receiving a report of a hit-and-run collision.

According to investigators, a witness dialed 911 and reported seeing a brown convertible traveling north on Yount Street when it hit an unoccupied parked car. Authorities said the parked vehicle suffered major damage to its rear, and its front right tire was pushed up onto the curb.

The witness provided authorities with information about where Pelosi had gone, and shortly afterward, California Highway Patrol officers stopped his vehicle on Yountville Cross Road, the sheriff’s office said.

Deputies reported that Pelosi’s vehicle had substantial damage to its front right side.

Pelosi told Napa County sheriff’s deputies that he realized he had hit something but did not know what it was, so he continued driving, authorities said.

Napa County officials said Pelosi is no longer driving.

During the investigation, authorities said alcohol does not appear to be a factor since he registered a .00 on the Preliminary Alcohol Screening Device.

Paul Pelosi was not arrested.

The Napa County Sheriff’s Office said it will be referring the case to the Napa District Attorney’s Office for review and prosecution.
