Jenny Racicot Biography – Jenny Racicot Wiki
Jenny Racicot, a 41-year-old Maine resident and former romantic partner of Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Graham Platner, has accused him of sexual assault in an interview with Politico. Platner’s campaign has already been shadowed by controversy, including claims about troubling behavior toward former partners, but Racicot’s allegation is the most serious to surface so far.
According to Racicot, she and Platner had been involved in an on-and-off relationship for more than two years before the alleged incident in late 2021. She told Politico that Platner, now the Democratic Senate nominee in Maine, came into her rural Maine home without being invited, was heavily intoxicated, and forced himself on her as she repeatedly told him to stop. Racicot said she later told him the encounter had not been consensual and ended contact with him.
Platner has denied the accusation. In a statement to Politico, he said, “These allegations are troubling, serious, and false. Any accusation of non-consensual behavior is categorically untrue.”
Racicot had previously spoken to The New York Times in June 2026 about Platner entering her home uninvited in 2021, though she did not provide further details at the time. She said then that she cut off contact shortly afterward and described his conduct as “reckless” and “unsettling.” Speaking with Politico, Racicot said she had struggled with whether to share the full account publicly because she supports Platner’s political views.
In a video posted to X on July 6, 2026, Platner said he and his campaign were “taking the time to reflect on the best path forward.” The allegation emerged one week before Maine’s ballot deadline, timing that Platner’s campaign said “is not a coincidence.” The campaign also pointed to earlier accusations from former partners that surfaced a week before the primary election and described the latest claims as “coached and coordinated by out of state establishment operatives.”
