Authorities in Oklahoma City say a suspect was taken into custody shortly after allegedly throwing a Molotov cocktail at a man using a wheelchair near police headquarters.
Surveillance video from outside the Oklahoma City Police Department headquarters shows the man in the wheelchair crossing a street diagonally at about 8 a.m. on July 2. Moments later, another man is seen crossing the roadway, then turning back and moving toward the victim.
The unidentified suspect appeared to ignite an object before throwing the incendiary device at the man in the wheelchair, police said.

After the device was thrown, flames briefly engulfed the area around the victim before the suspect pushed the wheelchair, according to the footage.
A passing driver stopped nearby, and two people got out of the vehicle. An Oklahoma City police detective in the area and a bystander pulled the victim away from the fire, while another officer detained the suspect.
Authorities said the attack, captured on camera just steps from Oklahoma City Police headquarters, left the man in the wheelchair surrounded by flames. He was later treated at a hospital. (Oklahoma City Police Department)
The victim sustained minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. Local reports said he is expected to recover.
The suspect faces multiple felony charges, including assault with intent to kill and assault and battery with a deadly weapon, according to the Oklahoma City Police Department.

A motive for the incident has not been disclosed.
