A magnitude 4.1 earthquake rattled Kern County on Monday morning, with shaking reported in portions of the greater Los Angeles area.
The quake occurred at 9:40 a.m. near Johannesburg, a community about 120 miles east of Bakersfield, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
People in Burbank, Pasadena, Valencia, Santa Clarita and multiple Los Angeles neighborhoods logged reports on the USGS “Did You Feel It?” website.
No damage or injuries were immediately reported.
The shaking followed another Southern California earthquake, a magnitude 4.2 temblor that struck Sunday morning.
That earlier quake hit shortly after 3:30 a.m. and was centered about 1 mile southeast of Frazier Park, a mountain community along the Interstate 5 corridor near the Los Angeles County line.
