A man was taken into custody this week after allegedly driving into the front gates of Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s East Hampton estate.
According to a police report obtained by Page Six, a 63-year-old male driver slammed into the mechanical gates while driving ‘at a high rate of speed up the driveway’ and caused ‘significant damage.’
According to the outlet, the driver was arrested following the incident and later brought to Stony Brook Hospital, where he was treated for complaints of pain.
Authorities also impounded the vehicle as the investigation continues. It remains unclear whether Jay-Z or Beyoncé were inside the Hamptons property when the crash occurred.
Detective/Sergeant Jennifer Dunn, one of the officers who responded to the scene, told Page Six that the man has no known criminal record.
Dunn said the driver “seemed confused at the scene and after the arrest.” She added that he did not issue any threats and did not “mention names of the residents.”

Dunn told the outlet that the residence may not have been targeted, saying, “It could just be chance he picked that house if he was having a medical issue.”
Shortly before the crash occurred, the male had stopped by another house on the road to ask about a woman who did not live there.
The individual who lived at that residence told police officers that the man had appeared to be ‘confused.’
No weapons or any ‘direct threats’ were found, with Dunn stating ‘we are not sure he even knew who lived in that house at this point.’
Officers who responded to the scene completed a criminal trespass and criminal mischief affidavit, per Page Six.
Daily Mail has reached out to the East Hampton Village Police Department as well as reps for Beyonce and Jay-Z for comment, but has yet to hear back.

Their eldest child then also accompanied him on stage as she helped him perform his 1996 song Feelin’ It as Blue Ivy also played the piano.
When recently asked by People if his daughter’s appearance at his concert had been a highlight for him, the star simply replied with a smile, ‘You said it.’
He then added, ‘That ain’t even a question.’
Jay-Z previously opened up about Blue Ivy’s skills on the piano during an interview with GQ back in March.
‘Blue is a crazy pianist, but she won’t let us get her a teacher. She doesn’t want it to be a job. But she has perfect pitch.’
He added, ‘If she hears a song, she’ll be like, “Play it again,” and then she’ll teach herself. That’s just talent. She doesn’t work at that.
