A Queens man killed in an apparent road-rage attack on the Belt Parkway was a married father of two heading home after a shift at JFK Airport, relatives said.
Crisanie Dockery, 47, was driving with a coworker at about 1:10 a.m. Sunday when a dispute with another motorist escalated violently, ending with Dockery beaten with a bat and left critically injured on the roadside, according to his family and police.
The person responsible has not been caught.
“How can you take him away from his children, his family?” Dockery’s sister, Marsha Dockery, told The Post. “It’s so unnecessary. It could have been dealt with so differently.”
“He was such an outgoing person, a friendly person, someone who you could approach with just about anything,” she said. “We are hoping that someone who sees something comes forward.”
Dockery, who was born in Jamaica, was found unconscious on the parkway near Exit 21B at Farmers Boulevard, police said. His 39-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries.
He was taken to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, as investigators continued searching for the attacker.
Outside the family’s home in St. Albans, Marsha Dockery said her brother worked as a ramp agent at JFK Airport. He had two sons, ages 21 and 13, and had been working to bring his wife to join the family in New York City.
Marsha Dockery said the fatal roadside assault has left the family devastated.
“Apparently there was a minor accident and the occupants came out and there was some sort of altercation and he was bludgeoned,” she said.
“He was such an outgoing person, a friendly person, someone who you could approach with just about anything.”
She said the younger son had not been told Sunday night, but his knew and was “just distraught.”
Police are investigating the deadly encounter but have not released details or a description of the killer.
