Travis Barker shares that emotional reflection in the trailer for his upcoming documentary, “Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear.”
The film traces Barker’s remarkable path to stardom, from joining Blink-182 as a replacement drummer to becoming one of rock’s most recognizable musicians. It also explores his struggle with painkiller addiction, with Barker revealing in the trailer that he was taking so many pills he once had a security guard assigned solely to watch him sleep and make sure he was still breathing.
Barker also revisits the 2008 plane crash that killed his assistant Chris “Lil Chris” Baker and his bodyguard Charles “Che” Still, as well as the pilot and co-pilot. Barker and Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein survived the crash but suffered severe burns. One year later, Goldstein was found dead in his New York City apartment.
In the trailer, Barker says surviving the tragedy forced him to confront questions that changed the course of his life.
“Why am I here when everyone else isn’t?”
“I had to ask myself who I was going to be after this accident.”
Barker says that turning point pushed him to focus on becoming the best person and father he could be.
The film also features Barker’s wife, Kourtney Kardashian and his kids, Landon, Alabama and Atiana.
“Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear” premieres August 13 on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.
