Chicken and waffles has long been the kind of classic American comfort food pairing that blurs the line between breakfast treat and full-on indulgence — and now Chick-fil-A is giving the fan-favorite combo a major fast-food spotlight.
Beginning August 24, the fast-food chain will roll out its Chicken & Waffles Sandwiches at restaurants across the country, allowing guests to satisfy those sweet-and-savory cravings well beyond the breakfast rush and into lunch or dinner.
The seasonal menu push does not stop there. Chick-fil-A is also adding a pair of fall-ready, S’mores-inspired beverages to the lineup: the S’mores Milkshake and the S’mores Frosted Coffee.
The nationwide debut comes after Chick-fil-A tested the Chicken & Waffles Sandwiches for a limited time in 2025, and the trial run appears to have won over plenty of curious customers.
Early reactions online were enthusiastic, with one Reddit user calling the sandwich “the best thing Chick-fil-A has ever had.” Another commenter suggested the updated version looked even more appealing than a previous chicken sandwich test from the chain.
At its core, the new Chick-fil-A sandwich stacks several rich, crowd-pleasing ingredients into one warm, handheld meal.
The build features maple-flavored waffles, a Chick-fil-A chicken filet, three strips of applewood-smoked bacon and a honey butter spread, all served warm with classic syrup on the side. Diners can customize it with the Original, Spicy or Grilled chicken filet.
Chick-fil-A will offer two versions depending on the time of day. The breakfast sandwich, served from opening until 10:30am, includes a smaller waffle and chicken filet.

From 10:30am until closing, customers can order the larger entree version, featuring a bigger chicken filet and waffle.
That means, unlike some of Chick-fil-A’s breakfast offerings, the chicken-and-waffles combination isn’t confined to the early-morning rush. For fans, that could be the biggest selling point of all.
One Reddit commenter joked that lunch essentially begins at 10:31am, while another simply complained about the chain’s breakfast hours and said they would rather be able to order a chicken biscuit all day.

There was also an inevitable catch spotted by commenters: Chick-fil-A restaurants are closed on Sundays.
One Reddit user joked that chicken and waffles not being available after church on Sunday ‘defeats the whole purpose,’ prompting another commenter to suggest buying it on Saturday and saving it for Sunday.
The chicken-and-waffles launch isn’t arriving alone. Chick-fil-A is also bringing back the cozy flavors of the campfire with two new S’mores-inspired drinks.
The S’mores Milkshake combines the chain’s signature Icedream dessert with chocolate shortbread, graham cracker crumbles and marshmallow-flavored syrup. It’s finished with marshmallow-flavored whipped topping.
Meanwhile, the S’mores Frosted Coffee combines Chick-fil-A’s cold-brewed coffee with marshmallow-flavored syrup and Icedream, along with chocolate shortbread and graham cracker crumbles.

The new menu is also part of a broader nostalgia push from Chick-fil-A, which is celebrating its 80th anniversary throughout 2026.
The company has been bringing back familiar ideas while introducing new twists, including Frosted Sodas and Floats, updated packaging, merchandise and other throwback-inspired touches.
Chick-fil-A began in 1946 when founder S. Truett Cathy opened the first restaurant in Atlanta, Georgia.
Eight decades later, the company has grown into one of America’s biggest quick-service restaurant chains, with more than 3,000 restaurants across the US, Canada, Puerto Rico, the UK and Singapore.
