A chaotic brawl broke out inside a California convention center, where more than 100 mixed martial arts fans surged into a sprawling fight as security teams struggled to bring the violence under control.
Video recorded inside the Visalia Convention Center shows crowds rushing toward the center of the venue as the confrontation grew, while others stood back and filmed the disorder on their cell phones.
Security staff can be seen moving quickly into the crowd, attempting to separate people and stop the fighting from spreading further.
The violence erupted Saturday night during the 559 Fights Next Gen 4 mixed martial arts event, the Visalia Police Department said.
Officers were already assigned to work security at the event when the fight started, but the size of the disturbance prompted an urgent call for additional support.
Police said about 100 people were caught up in the initial brawl, while several other fights broke out at the same time in other areas of the venue.
The Visalia Police Department dispatched 26 units to the convention center, where officers worked to regain control and clear the crowd.
The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office, along with police departments from Farmersville and Exeter, also responded to help contain the rampage.
Fifteen people were arrested in the aftermath and booked into the Tulare County Adult Pre-Trial Detention Facility on various charges, according to police.
Three Visalia Police officers suffered minor injuries while trying to bring the sprawling disturbance under control.
