Release from Alachua County Sheriff’s Office
HAWTHORNE, Fla. – Alachua County Sheriff’s deputies were called to Hawthorne late Monday afternoon, August 24, after receiving a report of a shooting in the 6000 block of SE 225th Street.
When deputies arrived, they found an adult man with a single gunshot wound. Deputies began providing emergency medical care at the scene until Alachua County Fire Rescue personnel arrived. The victim was then taken to a local hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
Detectives and crime scene investigators were also called to the area to determine what led to the shooting. Officials said the case remains active and the investigation is ongoing.
