Olivia Rodrigo Opens Grammy Museum Exhibit Inspired by ‘the cure’ Video With Intimate Performance

Olivia Rodrigo capped a major week on Tuesday night with a stripped-down performance at the Grammy Museum, arriving just after the success of her Daisy Chains Festival to mark the debut of a new exhibition, “Olivia Rodrigo: the cure unraveled.”

The Grammy Museum exhibit pulls back the curtain on the creative world behind “the cure,” the music video for a track from Rodrigo’s third and most recent album, “you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love.” Known for its handmade, offbeat visual language, the video is set inside a crafted hospital and features miniature builds, animatronic heart puppets and stop-motion animation. Cat Solen and Jaime Gerin directed the project, with production design by Liam Moore.

Visitors will be able to get an up-close look at Rodrigo’s nurse costume, original props, handmade sets and storyboards used to shape the video’s distinctive aesthetic. The exhibition also includes behind-the-scenes photography and interactive photo moments designed for fans.

Guests at Tuesday’s event were given an early preview of the installation ahead of its Sept. 2 public opening. The exhibit is scheduled to run through Feb. 22, with an expanded version planned for early fall 2026.

“I grew up going to the Grammy Museum, and their mission is especially important to me, so it’s a full circle moment to be able to work with them on this exhibit,” Rodrigo said. “It’s the perfect place to feature ‘the cure’ music video pieces that mean so much to me, as well as some incredibly special items from the past decade that we’re later adding that I’ve never shown before. I can’t wait for you all to see them in person!”

Speaking with On The Red Carpet, Grammy Museum curator Kelsey Goelz said Rodrigo’s connection to the institution made the exhibit especially meaningful. “It’s been so cool to have her here. She grew up coming here as a student, as a home-schooled student,” Goelz said. “So, a really full circle moment to see her get inspired by this place, and also be inspiring to the people who love her.”

Goelz said the exhibition is designed to highlight both the finished video and the painstaking artistry behind it. “It’s this really special moment to not only see the hand-crafted work up close, but also to, you know, do a little, pretending you’re Olivia. Get your photos in the music video, maybe sing along,” she said. “You know, you can also see all the different props from the video that were made by hand, by artists up close. We really love to look at the creative process, so we get to see Olivia’s process and all these amazing contributors.”

The Grammys will air live Feb. 7, 2027, on ABC, Disney+ and Hulu.
