A primary school worker was left stunned when a man climbed onto her motorbike and grabbed her hips as his friends laughed nearby.
Ellie, who has chosen not to disclose her surname, said she was horrified after the ‘inappropriate’ man ran into the road in Manchester city centre and mounted her motorcycle without permission.
The 32-year-old later posted footage of the incident online, prompting widespread support from social media users who condemned the man as ‘vile’.
The incident was recorded by her friend Charlotte’s helmet camera on September 12, as Ellie waited in traffic on Oldham Street aboard her bright green Kawasaki ER-6F.
Wearing black clothing and a black helmet, Ellie revved the motorcycle as she prepared to move when the traffic began flowing.
Without warning, a man in blue jeans and a grey jacket sprinted from the pavement into the road. In full view of passing pedestrians, he climbed onto the seat behind Ellie.
After steadying himself, the man put his hands around the shocked rider’s hips while surprised bystanders could be heard screaming.
Ellie shouted and slapped him across the face with her right hand, then held out her palm in disbelief at what had happened.

The man then clutched his ear as though he was in pain before jogging back towards a nearby bar, where his friends were waiting and laughing.
Ellie looked sharply towards the group of men and shook her head, appearing to react to the disturbing encounter.
At the next traffic lights, Ellie told her friend, ‘I am shaking,’ before the pair commented on the man’s apparently painful response to the slap.
The primary school employee said her ‘survival instincts’ took over once the stranger was sitting on her bike.
‘Never would have happened if I was with some of the guys,’ said Ellie, who is from Salford.
‘A man jumping onto a woman’s bike without consent is weird.
‘I was so focused on not dropping the bike I genuinely didn’t even process how inappropriate the whole thing was until afterwards.
‘Gave him a good whack though, so at least the survival instincts kicked in.’
Ellie shared the footage online, where the clip attracted more than 387,000 likes.
She captioned the video: ‘Someone come get their grandad. He’s out here touching women and bikes.’

Another viewer added: ‘Drunken over 40s men are so embarrassing. You didn’t hit him hard enough.’
Another wrote: ‘The way his friends are all laughing in the background too. It’s vile what men will do to women just to impress other men.’
And one social media user added: ‘This is disgusting oh my God, where do these men get the audacity?’
