An undocumented Venezuelan migrant was arrested near the White House Thursday after authorities allegedly found him in a stolen vehicle containing several firearms. He also reportedly threatened to kill President Donald Trump, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
US Secret Service officers approached the suspect Thursday evening after observing him “acting suspicious in his car” while it was parked on Constitution Avenue in Washington, DC, DHS told Fox News.
The suspect told officers that voices in his head had instructed him to travel to the nation’s capital and kill Trump, DHS said.
Authorities later determined that the vehicle had been reported stolen. The suspect also acknowledged that he had weapons inside the car.
During the investigation, officers recovered three firearms—including an AR-15-style rifle and two handguns—as well as dozens of rounds of ammunition.
Officials identified the suspect as Ronny Yordrix Guanipa Chrinos. He illegally entered the United States through Texas in March 2024 and was later arrested by US Border Patrol, according to authorities.
He was subsequently released into the country under the Biden administration.

After his arrest, US Immigration and Customs Enforcement lodged a detainer for Chrinos with the US Marshals Service, which currently has him in custody.
The US Secret Service said the case underscores the growing threat from armed individuals “drawn to the White House complex.”
“This is the latest example of Secret Service personnel relying on extensive training and experience to deescalate a volatile situation that posed an imminent threat to our protectees and other Americans,” US Secret Service Director Sean Curran said in a statement.
“While our personnel are trained to respond to situations like this and we remain confident in our tactics, we are alarmed by the increase in threat cases that continue to arise,” Curran added. “The Secret Service will continue expanding our focus on proactively investigating and identifying individuals who make threats to our protectees, in order to disrupt threats before they arrive in Washington.”
