Beau Lamarre-Condon believed Jesse Baird was “the one” and was “devastated” after Baird made clear he did not want a relationship with him.
Crown prosecutors alleged that Lamarre-Condon used his authority as a senior constable to obtain CCTV footage of Baird on a date with another man. He also allegedly watched Baird while he spoke with other people.
Prosecutors further alleged that he watched Baird having sex with other men through the bedroom window of Baird’s home in Paddington.
In August 2023, months before the alleged murders, Baird reportedly woke to find Lamarre-Condon standing inside his bedroom.
Baird chased him from the house and down the street but could not identify Lamarre-Condon as the alleged intruder.
The court also heard that Lamarre-Condon allegedly broke into Baird’s home on another occasion, accessed his phone, deleted messages and activated a location-sharing feature.
On the day of the alleged murders in February 2024, the Crown said Lamarre-Condon entered Baird’s Paddington rental with a key he had “either copied or stole”.
He allegedly walked into the living room and shot Baird twice. One bullet struck the base of his neck near the shoulder before exiting through his jaw.
The second shot allegedly passed through one side of Baird’s temple and exited through the other, before continuing through the floorboards.
Baird’s boyfriend, Luke Davies, had attempted to hide in the bedroom while calling triple-0.
Lamarre-Condon allegedly shot Davies in the head through the bedroom door.
