Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang allegedly had a romantic relationship with a Chinese businesswoman whom US intelligence suspects of spying for Beijing, according to a newly reported American intelligence memo.
The claim has fueled concern that one of the world’s most influential technology leaders may have been targeted in a potential Chinese “honey trap” operation.
The 63-year-old billionaire is said to have become romantically involved with Alice Huang, an executive at Singapore-based Megaspeed. The two are not related.
Megaspeed, a significant Nvidia customer, was already under scrutiny over allegations that it helped move restricted US-made processors into China.
US officials believe Alice Huang was recruited by China’s Ministry of State Security, the country’s main civilian intelligence agency, to collect information on Jensen Huang and possibly influence his business decisions.
The allegations were detailed in a Financial Times report, which said US officials prepared a classified memo about the suspected relationship earlier this year.
The memo, based on intelligence collected by American agencies, was shared with a limited number of senior officials shortly before President Donald Trump traveled to Beijing in May for talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The account goes beyond an earlier report by The New York Times, which said Jensen Huang had formed a “close relationship” with the Chinese executive but did not characterize it as romantic.
US intelligence suspects the Chinese businesswoman and Megaspeed executive was recruited by Beijing’s spy agency to collect information on Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang
The alleged relationship involving the 63-year-old Nvidia billionaire has raised concerns that a leading US technology executive may have been targeted in a Chinese espionage operation
The Financial Times is the first outlet to report that the US government believes the relationship was intimate, adding to concerns that the Nvidia chief may have been the focus of a Chinese intelligence effort.
It is not clear whether US agencies believe Jensen Huang knew of the woman’s alleged ties to Beijing, or whether any confidential information was exposed.
Alice Huang has not been accused of knowingly cooperating with Chinese intelligence, and the reported romance has not been independently confirmed.
Nvidia has declined to comment on either the alleged relationship or the intelligence memo.
The company has previously rejected suggestions that Jensen Huang’s dealings with Alice Huang were improper, saying they reflected his responsibilities as the leader of a global technology business.
“Jensen’s interactions with Ms. Huang are not unusual or unexpected,” a spokesman previously told Our News Outlet.
“Meetings with customers are part of a CEO’s job; Jensen speaks with thousands of customer executives every year.”

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang prompted intelligence concerns after reportedly developing a “close relationship” with Alice Huang, who the CIA believed was involved in moving AI chips to China
Alice Huang was seated beside him during the gathering, held after a technology trade show. NetThunder later published photographs from the event on LinkedIn.
The two were reportedly seen together again in May 2025, leaving a Taipei restaurant after a dinner attended by artificial intelligence suppliers.
According to the Times, Alice Huang waited nearby while the Nvidia chief spoke to reporters outside.
The allegations have drawn particular attention because of Jensen Huang’s enormous influence over the global AI industry and his unusually close relationship with President Trump.
Nvidia, now valued at more than $5 trillion, designs the advanced processors that underpin many of the world’s most sophisticated artificial intelligence systems.

Those chips are also central to Washington’s escalating effort to stop China from obtaining technology that could strengthen its military capabilities.
Jensen Huang has repeatedly urged Trump to ease restrictions on Nvidia’s advanced chip sales to China. He has argued that allowing US companies to compete in the Chinese market would help limit the influence of domestic rivals such as Huawei.
He also personally pressed the president to approve exports of Nvidia’s powerful H200 processors, despite opposition from some national security officials.
Jensen Huang has made repeated appearances with Trump during his second term and said earlier this year that the president often calls him late at night

The Trump administration later approved some sales under restrictions, although shipments had been delayed by the time Trump met Xi at the May summit.
According to the Times, Chinese intelligence allegedly recruited Alice Huang to obtain information about US artificial intelligence technology and potentially shape Nvidia’s stance on supplying advanced processors to China.
Megaspeed was spun off from a Chinese gaming company in 2023 before expanding into the fast-growing AI data-center sector.
The company has faced questions over suspicions that advanced Nvidia chips were redirected to China in breach of US export controls.
Nvidia previously reviewed those allegations and said it found no evidence of misconduct.
The company has also said that regional cloud customers receive routine commercial information, not confidential corporate secrets or material connected to US national security.
The reported intelligence findings have nevertheless prompted calls for Jensen Huang to answer questions before Congress.
Republican representatives Brian Mast, John Moolenaar and Rick Crawford, who lead three influential House committees, have asked him to appear for a closed-door briefing on November 18.

The reported “close relationship” with the suspected Chinese operative has raised concerns in the White House and among US intelligence officials
The lawmakers want to question Jensen Huang about his dealings with Alice Huang and the safeguards Nvidia has in place to prevent foreign espionage.
Their request follows earlier Times reporting that US intelligence agencies had electronically monitored Alice Huang for at least a year.
Trump was reportedly informed last year about the Chinese executive’s suspected activities and her connection to the Nvidia chief but decided not to take action.
Despite those concerns, Jensen Huang has retained unusually close access to the president.
When Trump prepared to travel to Beijing in May, Huang was initially left off the delegation of American business leaders accompanying him.
After realizing that the Nvidia chief was not included, Trump reportedly called him. Huang then traveled to Alaska and boarded Air Force One during a stopover.
He later attended the state dinner Trump hosted for Xi during the Chinese president’s visit to Washington in September.
China has previously rejected the espionage claims as baseless.
