ORLANDO, Fla. – Toys“R”Us is growing its Florida footprint as part of a nationwide expansion that will add 120 standalone stores across the U.S. during the holiday season.
The company said in a release this month that the new stores, which are being opened with Go! Retail Group, will increase the total number of standalone Toys“R”Us locations nationwide to 160.
Toys“R”Us has not disclosed how many of the new standalone stores will be located in Florida.
The Florida rollout will, however, include two new airport shop-in-shop locations at Orlando International Airport.
The first location opened in August, and a second is planned to open in summer 2027 through a partnership with WHSmith North America.
The airport shops will cater to travelers visiting Orlando and the wider Central Florida area, offering families a convenient place to find toys, gifts and collectibles during their journeys.
The new locations will feature products from brands such as LEGO, Barbie, Hot Wheels, Pokémon and “KPop Demon Hunters,” according to the company. Some stores will also offer Creator Studios, spaces where toy companies and content creators can stage product launches, reveals and special events. Select locations are expected to include candy shops and cafés.
The expansion reflects Toys“R”Us’ broader strategy of reaching shoppers through a mix of standalone stores, Macy’s shop-in-shops, airport locations and Navy Exchange shop-in-shops.
“This holiday season represents an extraordinary expansion for Toys”R”Us in the U.S., and we couldn’t be more excited to bring the magic of Toys”R”Us to so many communities across the country,” said Gideon Schlessinger, CEO of Go! Retail Group. “There’s something special about walking into a Toys”R”Us store, especially during the holidays—the excitement of discovering the hottest toys, seeing favorite brands and characters come to life, and finding that perfect gift. With 160 stores open this season, we have an incredible opportunity to bring that experience to millions of customers and create destinations they’ll want to come back to throughout the year.”
