A man drew widespread attention online after recording himself collecting a DoorDash order from the scene of a crash involving the delivery driver.
Glenn Ndibnu started filming when he arrived at the wreck on Church Road in Bowie, Maryland, where several ambulances were at the scene.
“I DoorDashed some food, and my DoorDasher told me he got in a car accident, and he was like, ‘I can come meet him and get the food from him,’” Ndibnu explained in the video.
As he considered crossing the road to retrieve his order, Ndibnu said he felt guilty about picking up food after the crash involving his driver.
“I think that’s my food right there. Is it f—ed up for me to walk across and pick it up?” Ndibnu asked.
“I look so f—ed up right now about to go get this food,” he added.
Ndibnu eventually collected the order and apologized to the driver, William Koroma. Koroma later created a GoFundMe campaign to help replace the vehicle, which was totaled in the crash.
Ndibnu later shared links to Koroma’s fundraiser in follow-up posts on Instagram.
“My vehicle experienced brake failure, and I was involved in a major accident,” Koroma wrote on the GoFundMe page.
“My car was totaled, and I am deeply grateful that I survived and that no one else was seriously injured,” he continued.
Koroma said the crash left him dealing with multiple difficulties, including the loss of his vehicle and his job. “Since the accident, I have been facing several challenges at once. Losing my vehicle has left me without reliable transportation, and I have also lost my job,” he wrote.
He did not provide details about his injuries but said he was also facing medical expenses following the accident.
The GoFundMe campaign had collected nearly $14,000 as of Tuesday morning.
