Dennis Haskins, best known for playing Principal Richard Belding on the 1990s sitcom “Saved by the Bell,” has died at age 75, according to his agent.
“It’s a tragic loss,” agent Jay Schachter said. “Everyone loved Mr. Belding, and those of us who knew Dennis loved him even more. He was a great person, and he loved—I mean absolutely loved—his fans. He always made time for them, no matter what.”
The cause of Haskins’ death was not disclosed.

Haskins was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, according to a biography published on the university’s website.

He later built a successful acting career, appearing as a guest on shows including “The Twilight Zone” and “Magnum, P.I.,” according to IMDb. His most recognizable role came on “Saved by the Bell,” where his character became known for the signature line, “Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, what is going on here?”
Haskins also appeared in a number of other television shows and films, including “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.”
Schachter said Haskins’ death would be a profound personal loss.
“He was my client and dear friend for over 20 years, and I will miss him terribly,” Schachter said. “I’m heartbroken.”
